Just when you think you’re starting to get the hang of this whole parenting thing, you have a whole new issue to deal with. You thought the terrible twos were bad!

This little life change called puberty rears its ugly head and throws the whole family into chaos. Whether you have a young man or a young lady in the house, we feel for you. This is a difficult time for students as their bodies are changing in ways that might not feel comfortable. Not only that, hormones are running amok!. Your sweet little girl could be laying on the couch watching a movie peacefully then, BAM!, those hormones kick in. Same with the guys, though testosterone has a different way of affecting the male species.

It’s hard on everybody in the family and chaos is often the rule, and not the exception. We need to remember though that sometimes our budding teenagers are not able to control their emotions or even understand them at the time. We need to provide them with a Lot of grace.

This is also the time where we need to start giving them more freedom, scary I know! But we need to remember, we’re not raising children, we’re training them to be adults.
